Read my unbelievable cruise excursion on our day in La Romana.
We did some research online to find the best shore excursion from La Romana. Everybody raved about Isla Saona so we decided to try this. Now we were looking for the best operator. After reading tons of reviews online we chose Seavistours. It couldn't have been a better choice. The communication with the Seavis staff before the cruise excursion was great. The directions we got to get the taxi and what to bring for the cruise excursion were perfect. Everything was summarized in a clear voucher. On the day itself everything went just as smooth, we arrived in Bayahibe, paid for our cruise excursion and met our tour guide. We were ready to go.

On our way to Isla Saona we stopped at the caves. Here we got a brief history lesson and were told about the Indians who occupied this island before Columbus arrived. The tour guide knew a lot and told us interesting facts in a fun way. Next we stopped at the sandbank. The starfish gave great photo opportunities. We relaxed a bit with a drink and after 20 minutes we left for our next stop. And then we went for the high light of the entire cruise, the breathtaking beach of Canto de la Playa. This was stunning! No other tour groups were there, this is Seavis' private concession. Image yourself swaying palm trees, white beach (the beach is actually crushed corals) and incredible blue waters.... this is paradise. You could snorkel in the shoulder deep water. But I stayed on the gorgeous beach and dreamt away. Very peaceful and relaxing. At the end of the afternoon we needed to pack up for our return trip. I wished they would have left me there, I could live like a gypsy on such a beach. We sped along the coast line back to Bayahibe. This La Romana excursion has been the highlight of our whole cruise vacation so when you visit La Romana: book this shore excursion! We discovered the Caribbean of our imagination.
